Looking for some info regarding panel size. Example residential 200 amp service feeding three apartments and a landlord panel. What size panels? Where in the book is there info on exceeding sevice conductor ratings? Thanks, Scott
'02 Code. 230.80 230.90(A) Exception 3. The service conductors need to be adequate for the calculated load. But, the combined rating of "up to six service disconnects" is allowed to exceed the SE conductors ampacity as long as any individual disconnect is adequately sized for the load it serves.
Scott, I'm not sure this is what you're asking, but the NEC Handbook details the principal described above.
