On an island with a cooktop there is 6 inches of countertop on either side of the cooktop. 210-52 says at least one receptacle is required at an island measuring 12" X 24" or larger, but goes on to say that countertops separated by cooktops etc shall be considered separate countertops in applying the requirements. So this means there are two, six inch countertops. 250-52 says a receptacle is required for each countertop space which measures 12 inches and wider.
I take this to mean the island described in this case would not require a countertop receptacle(s).
Am I correct?
