Hi,
I have two decorative fountains I need to install power to. Can the pump cord be ran over the lip of the liner without being in a conduit? What is the best method to use here? I have two to three cords running from the interior wall of the 18" deep plastic liner. The liner is surrounded by brick work. The only way to run the cords out of the liner is over the lip of the liner and down into the brick work out to a weatherproof outlet where I was planning on plugging this in. The outlets will be switch controlled.

To me the cords need to be protected rather than just ran over the lip and down inot the brickwork and then connected to an FS box with a CGB.

thanks for any replies!

If the cord will be subjected to abuse, then it will be necessary to protect it somehow. There are many different ways of achieving this, limited only by your imagination. If this installation will be inspected, then the inspector must approve what you choose. Good luck.
