Is there a limit on the amount of bends when running liquid-tite or other flexible conduit?

No more than 360 degrees total between access points, like any other conduit system.

You would think it might be different because you can run the wire inside before you install the flexible conduit. But if you ever have to pull it out later, could be tuff.

Yeah you can do that, and I am sure we all have done it, but code wise we are not suposed to.

Quote
300.18 Raceway Installations.
(A) Complete Runs.
Raceways, other than busways or exposed raceways having hinged or removable covers, shall be installed complete between outlet, junction, or splicing points prior to the installation of conductors. Where required to facilitate the installation of utilization equipment, the raceway shall be permitted to be initially installed without a terminating connection at the equipment. Prewired raceway assemblies shall be permitted only where specifically permitted in this Code for the applicable wiring method.

how far are you running the liquid flex if your worried about more than 360 degrees of bends. usually a six foot piece has much less than 360 in bends

You can run flex as far as you like. [Linked Image]
