Does the code require an "in-use cover" on an outside receptacle, that is on a porch area, and has a roof over it?? Thanks Steve..

jeff, yes I think that would only be considered a damp location. Do you know the code reference for the in use requirements? Thanks Steve...

406.8(B)contains the requirements for using "in-use" covers in wet locations.

Am I the only one that sees this expanded requirement for "in use" covers as a poor requirement? I have felt that within a few monthes many of these "in use" covers will become "no covers" due to the flimsey construction and I know of at least one case where my prediction has come true.

EPrice: I agree with you, but unfortanatly, the NFPA doesn't agree with us I require them.
