Not sure if its legal to mount an outdoor ceiling fan in a ramada with a lattice type ceiling in which rain will come through. The fan motor looks sealed but I may have figure a way to seal the cover above where the connections are. Don't believe this is addressed in the code?

If the cieling fan is rated for a wet location, I do not see a problem.
I personally have yet to see a wet location cieling fan. I have installed industrial type of fans in wet locations, but they were not designed for looks.
I would check the manufacturers installation instruction very carefully.

I've seen some wet location fans. Next time your at Lowe's or Home Depot take a look, they usually have 2 or 3 on display.
I've never hung one, but after looking at them from a distance I think they could be mounted in that situation.
That being said, I think NEsparky hit it on the head though: check the manufacturer's specs very carefuly
