Greetings, My wife has been offered an interesting job opportunity in the Houston area. I have been an EC for years on the west coast. We have a nephew in Houston who wants me to start a company there to help him get a start in the business.

If we were to relocate to Houston, I was wondering if someone could tell me what the licensing requirements were in Houston.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Welcome,
Houstonian here.
Journeyman-4 years of OJT, and pass city test, or approved 4 year apprentice program.
Master Electrician - 8 years OJT, or PE, and pass city test.
Contractor's License - no requirements.
I could be wrong about some of these, but I think that you can get a basic idea about their requirements.
You must have a Master working ofr you, and the contractor's license.
