Can anyone help me find the discussion about the "trick" 3-way hook-up that had to do with operating a garage light and house light from both locations and having power available at the garage at all times. It was done with only 3 wires between the garage and house by connecting the hot to one of the traveler terminals instead of the common.
Thanks.

Hi Redsy, I didn't see one on this site but I did see one on Mike Holts: http://www.mikeholt.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/002317.html
I Think they refered to it as a Tennesse 3-way. I hope this helps. Bill

Redsy, after reading your post again, I dont think this is the one you are looking for. But, maybe it will help.

Thanks, guys.
Rick's thread was the one I was looking for.
I tried 3 times today to find it at each section with no luck. I thought it was 3 wires not 4 , but thats the one I want.
Thanks.

Disclaimer Please don't try this at home.

This was used years ago in home between house and garage.

Is no longer legal.

Very nice. Unless I'm mistaken, this was also known as the Carter 3-way and the California 3-way.

Thanks.
