Most rx jobs require the building be closed in, a roof , and at least plastic over the windows, but here is a twist.......


Post & Beam construction. 1/2 rock, 1/2 aspinite, 2" hard insulation applied from the oustide onto it.

I'm usuing 4 squares w/sidestraps & 1" mudplates applied from the outside in.
(hacked into the insulation, made onto the 2x4 strapping)

The rx is exposed until a second layer of 2" hard ins. is applied, then it gets another 1/2" aspinite over that, then siding.....

oh, they seal all with that foam insulation in a can......

comments?... citations?....arabic curses?

Is this house in a code enforcement area? Is the 2" insulation applied in liquid or gel or solid? Any information on the compatibility of the insulation material and the coating of the boxes and the romex jacket?

Gerald, no single family enforcement here, no OC permit, fairly evident via a short drive here......
The company that constructs these is Timber Creek
Typically the frame goes up, and rock,spinite,insulation is applied from the outside in. The insulation is the 2" hard stuff. There are 2 layers on the walls, 3 on the roof. Anything i've wired is sandwiched in bettween these layers of insulation.

All cracks, openings, etc are then 'sealed' with a common spray foam insulation that they apply, found in any hardware store...
