Yes Joe, what he suggests, publicly in fact, would not be considered kosher.

Having read through all of this several times, I now think I understand what he is trying to accomplish, however, as Sparky said, it might not be the correct thing to do. Some jackleg electrician might tie those two hot legs together and really spark up the place. He will surely need those construction photographs then to prove he had something to begin with.
