I asked the three code questions that Joe posted on 6-25 and went back to my comrades with the replies, but they are not satisfied. They want to know if the answers are code requirements, code recomendations, or just someone's idea of a good idea. Of course they will next want me to show it to them in writing in the code book. What do you think?

Miss Della,
Question #1. I agree with the recommendation to use equipment grounding conductors in the raceways, but it is not a code requirement. 250-118 lists both rigid and EMT conduit as equipment grounding conductors.
Question #2. Not covered by the NEC, but repalcement parts should match the original equipment.
Question #3. Also not covered by the NEC. The IEEE "Green Book" has a statement that, "a resistance on the order of 1,000,000 ohms to ground is usually satisfactory for static mitigation". The book also states that, "any ground adequate for power circuits is adequate for protection from static electricity".
