How many times do you plan on changing light fixtures?

"How many times do you plan on changing light fixtures?"
It is obvious you do not know my wife.
Seriously tho this product would have a function in multi use areas. The dining room chandelier comes to mind. Also, I have seen bars where the pool table gets moved on weekends to make way for a dance floor, the overhead table light could be swapped out with this product.

There are some fixtures that are hell to install. You have to support the heavy fuxture while you wire the canopy. The wire has to thread thru the fixture stud before you can hang it or wire it. This would solve that problem. My only reservations are, can it handle the weight, is it well built, and UL approved?

This thing reminds me of some fixtures I had to install last week, only they were more like a real pain in the rear. Come with an funny looking hanger bracket made with spring steel, that has a hole sized for a typical threaded fixture stud like we see all the time. The fixture itself has the threaded stud bolted onto it allready. You splice the wiring, line it up and then push it up into place and the bracket grabs the threads of the stud and holds it into place. Great so far, but owner decides he doesn't like it after all. Now try and get the thing back off the ceiling. Be prepared for a mess. Coming soon to a big box store near you.

I like when she plugs in the ceiling fan. What if it had been on high?

Gee, I can't wait... The video does not show Ms. Smiling Blonde actually wiring in the receptacle part, where you need those expensive electricians with all those crimpers and scraps of short wire... Mr. Smooth Voice says "all types of ceiling fans" Obviously they don't consider the cast iron Hunters (@85#)when they wrote that copy, and where was the part about ul listing? I'll bet this device never gets a listing for ceiling fan support.

The biggest thing that bothers me about this is Madame Homeowner "plugging in" all these fixtures while the circuit is HOT. Weight not withstanding, what about a ceiling fan that has something of a wobble to it? It would kinda spoil dinner having the fan suddenly end up as part of the entree . I didn't see the video all the way through. Was there some mention as to amperage capacity? I assume that both halves of this device would need to be installed by one of those "high-priced electricians"... Mike (mamills)

I proposed this idea some time ago when the question came up as to whether a blank cover was a (required) lighting outlet. If you installed the fixed part of this in the ceiling box then an unqualified person could get a light in there.
