There's many a customer who's needs can have options laid out for them.
But there are a good number of adamant types, usually who's Uncle Fester had already advised prior to my arrival.

So....an older contractor i know says he simply bills them as EWAD's or "Electrical Work as Directed" , claiming it saves him the 'I told you so" song & dance.

interesting eh??

I get lots of "As Directed" work orders, and it usually works out pretty well, but can draw the line as far as anything unsafe, unethical, or contrary to Code. I just don't do the work.
Knowingly doing something wrong "as directed" won't save your a** in court, whether you have a disclaimer or not.

Agreed, i did'nt mean for to go there.....

more like people who wish for only 1 little recessed light in a room, that sort of thing.

Or the lady who just had to have the chain hung fixture ( rated, listed yes) in her outdoor entryway which became a pinata' with the first strong wind.....

I didn't mean to sound so drastic.Sorry
Some of the worst customers I've run into are the "I've already got the parts, just need them installed" ones. You get to the job and they've got a new 40A breaker to replace that pesky 20 that keeps tripping.
These seem to be the same ones that'll blame you if anything goes wrong.
