Rigging sked 40 PVC through 4in concrete slab for detached garage. Conduit will extend about 4' above slab so the concrete crew can't miss it and will be braced to rebar. Site foreman suggested using A/C pipe insulation as "cushion" between conduit and concrete. You guys do this or use something else?

I like the insulation wrap around it as well. Everything expands at differnt rates plus it allows some form of movement.
Why not use ridged conduit if your concerned with damage?
