Im moving to Raleigh NC and Im wondering if my hours and shooling are transferable from California to back east. I really do like doing electrical work, love bending pipe...running underground...all of it. Ive been in a slump for a couple years, work has been slow and now I have a 2 year old boy which is a job in itself. Im making about 50 grand on my California house so Im thinking of starting my own business back east doing electrical. I need some advice, Im clueless as to where to sign up if I try union in North Carolina, hopefully some of you seasoned electricians can give me some insight. Ive got 8 years and probably 11000-12000 hours of commercial work.

Go here, http://www.ncbeec.org/.

Your hours will be counted but you will need letters or proof to go with it.

You can download the application forms from the site.
