Or "Armistice Day" if you're old enough!
Thanks to all the men (and women) who've served our countries with distinction (Noting the international flavor of ECN), and thoughts and prayers for those currently serving, especially in "hot spots".

Doug I couldn't have put it out there any better. I would like to ride on your shirt tail here and would proudly support the folks for the service. CONGRATULATIONS

Do the British also observe some kind of Veterans day? I heard something on the BBC radio news last night, but wasn't paying close attention.

My prayers and my profound gratitude to all servicemen and women...past, present, and future.
God bless them...

Sorry it is a Canadian video Clip though. Our brothers and sisters to the north all bleed the same. Even though we have philosophical differences, we came from the same place and fight together for the same freedoms. Even though I "put in my time", I have the utmost respect for others who have given to the freedoms that we have. That includes all races and all countries that have supported us in our fight for freedom. It is too bad that freedom is not free but we appreciate it more because of the sacrifices of those that have gone before us and those that are fighting for us now. Thank you. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Charlie Eldridge, Indianapolis, Utility Power Guy

I was listening to a local disk jockey today who brought up a good point, not only do we owe thanks to the veterans themselves, but also to the families who have lost loved ones defending our freedoms.
Thanks to all!

"For those who have served, the sound of Taps will ring for a very long time, and longer still these days.
Reguardless of politics, or for that matter even what side you're on. In the end, for the fallen to be counted, and measured against history and the fact that we have not learned from it."
-Anonomous Soldier WWII (Believed to be German)
That always stuck with me, and it is well know that during the Cival War that both sides would stop for the playing of it.

A phrase that sticks in my mind is, "Freedom isn't free." Hopefully, the holiday will sharpen out menories so we think about the costs and those who paid them more often.
