Is there any regulation on how thick the pole has to be for a temporary service pole?? I believe the code says it has to be at least 60 amps, and I am assuming the heigth would need to be at least 10ft. which is the minimum clearance for overhead service conductors. Last time I checked it seems I had trouble finding a 12 ft. 4X4 treated. Thanks for your comments.... Steve
Our Poco requires a 4"x6" minimum or a 6" top round pole. The minimum height of weatherhead is 14'. This translates into an 18' pole.( burial depth of 4' min.) You should be able to get a copy of your local company's requirements.

I use 3 2x8's nailed together with the joints offset. Another thing I do is treat the thing with Thompson's water seal. I have a temp service in the next town over thats been there for 4 years now and still looks good.
