eBay request: Confirm your eBay account.

Dear eBay customer,

Due to recent activity, including possible unauthorized listings placed on your account, we will require a second confirmation of your identity with us in order to allow us to investigate this matter further... Etc....

To confirm your identity with us click here: http://signin.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?OneTimePayment&ssPageName=h:h:sin:US

After responding to the message, we ask that you allow at least 72 hours for the case to be investigated. Emailing us before that time will result in delays. Etc...

eBay will request personal data (password, credit card/bank numbers, and so on) in this email.

I get those, and the other one's from Nigeria saying if I accept their 20 or 40 million dollars on their behalf, I can keep some of it!

Speaking of spam - does anyone remember eating that stuff fried growing up?

Here's a site where people try to get money from the scammers. Kind of addictive reading, I think.

I would like you to note that we are now in Tribble hunting season here in the UK, so there may be some delay in some of my replies.

ROTFL! [Linked Image] Gee, I've lived in England all these years and never seen one! I guess there is a corner of the world that has never seen Star Trek!

Ah.... Partners to that famous firm of lawyers called Sue, Grabbit & Runn. [Linked Image]

I've not actually had any of the Nigeria scams for a few weeks.

The most recent batch seems to be just a simple one-line message with attachment. Messages include:

"I have your password"

"I found your account details"

"Please don't send me your illegal pics again."

"Is this you?"

All designed the perk the curiosity to get someone to open the attachment, of course. [Linked Image]

Yep. Spam fritters were certainly on the menu at school here in the early-mid 1970s.

The reason I ask is because I received an email from them. The dislaimer says I registered for it. I am sure I did not. I was thinking maybe they are taking email addresses from another site maybe this one.
