I saw a brochure outlining the use of the Crouse Hinds Cam-lok connectors
http://www.tmb.com/Pdf/Cam-Lok.pdf I was wondering if there is any restriction on where they can be used and who can connect equipment using them?
I looked at a 315 amp connector and noted that you could touch the brass pin and socket with your finger when the plug was apart.
The other worry I have is even though the connectors are colour (Australian Spelling) coded they are interchangable. So that a green plug can be plugged into a red socket.
Or an earth connection could be inadvertantly left off.
So when these connectors are used, is there a stipulation to ensure only licensed electricians can use them?
I have personally only seen these connectors used once here in Aus are they in common use in the states?
