hello there:

this one i ran into this hot tub and i look over the instuction manual book and it never mention about using the grounding wire to bond it on the electric motor and heater. let me tell you this one the motor is not double insluated type it is a standard electric motor and the heater is common one they use in the hot tub and jazzacui btw both are wired for 120 volts

yes ,, i know both pump motor and heater have to be on separted circuits with gfic on it

tell me if i am right you have to run #8 wire for bonding ?? i did look up 96 nec codes but i dont have the 02 code with me so if they did change that or still the same as 96 code was ??

merci , marc

680.43(E) All metal parts associated with the spa or hot tub shall be bonded any of the following methods
(1) The interconnection of threaded metal piping & fittings.
(2) Metal-to-metal mounting on a common frame or base
(3) The provisions of a copper bonding jumper, insulated, covered, or bare, not smaller than 8 AWG solid

Doesnt look like its changed.. [Linked Image]
