Thanks to the help from this forum I have my shop light fixtures wired hung and ready for bulbs. The fixtures are acrylic reflectors with glass lenses, 400W, High bay. I got them on the cheap in almost like new condition, but without lamps.
Do I need to be picky about the particular lamp type that I use in these fixtures? There are many different bulbs available. Are there any serious differences in bulbs such that I need to be careful in selecting them?
Also, these are pulse start lights. What happens if I don't use pulse start bulbs. If these are making too much light, can I simply put 250Watt bulbs with the same transformer/starter system?
I'm enjoying your website, especially the photos. It's really unbelievable what some people will do. My favorite was the transformer "mounted" with rope.
Thanks for all your help,

Thanks very much for the reply. I'm a little embarrassed that I put you to this trouble. I did some other surfing and found out that it is M59 bulb type that matches my M135 ballast type.
I should have pursued it harder before bothering the buisy folks here. Your help is greatly appreciated.
If I can return the favor, please let me know. PLC questions maybe?
