[Linked Image] but it's 'keyless' as opposed to 'keyed' , so why is there no 'keyed' lampholders , or non-pullchain lampholders?? [Linked Image]

But there are... they have a little "key" that turn half a revolution to switch.

Shall we try for a deadpan on the deadvolt?
I must be tired.

I recently learned the area of 1 barn. I definitely couldn't hit it. Believe me, you wouldn't want AWG and kcmil replaced with barns.

There's also the keyless receptacle that has a recp in addition to the lampholder. Why don't they call it a receptacle-lampholder?
Some guys here just call them porcelains. It sounds quite silly to hear somebody ordering a plastic porcelain.

What the heck is "urea" anyway... (Yech!)

My High School biology class has convinced me to only buy porcelain ones...

If you pick up an old porcelain pull chain one, and look directly at the socket, where the pc chain comes through the porcelain looks something like a keyslot for an old skeleton key door latch. Thus the "keyed" part. Of course, remove the keyslot, and you have...
