Is there a list that shows what breaker will fit in what panel and be code compliant?

Thank you
Edward

Thanks

If you find one, let me know. I did some research a while back and found a list on Siemens web site of what panels their breakers were listed for. I included GE. The next week we failed an inspection for a Siemens breaker in a GE panel. The inspector was very insistent that no breakers were ever listed to be in other panels and wouldn't listen to me. I was going to print the web page for him, but it wasn't worth the effort, I just changed the breaker.

Guys,
Just because it fits doesn't mean that you can use it. There are "classified" breakers that are made to fit in panels made by other manufacturers. These "classified" breakers have been tested in the same manner as the "listed" breakers made by the panel manufacturer. The "classified" breakers are supplied with a list of panels that they have been classified for use in.

Thomas and Betts makes some breakers that fit in about 8 different panel brands (so they say, i've never tried one)

More importantly the Thomas & Betts breakers are UL classified for use in other panels.

The T&B breakers have the panel model numbers that they fit right on the side of the breakers.
