and

Member Contributed Motor Control Schematics-part 2 of 2

in the Technical Reference section.

Discussions on these items can be found in the Electrical Theory and Applications section, under the topics:

Oh no! Now I am going to get a whole bunch of [deleted] questions! (just kidding)
I didn't think they still existed until I started working there.
Anyone else come across any?

Edited motor type to keep them guessing.

Hey Scott,
Is this a slip-ring type motor with Primary Resistance speed control?. [Linked Image]

We need to "Lure" Pinemarten in here to explain what's up with the drawings.

I'm baaaaaaaack!
Sorry for keeping you, but I have been busy gathering nuts for the Canadian winter.
It is a [delete] motor, and I hope Scott will delete his gimme as well. The diagram for the motor is the proper one for that type. (hint)
Sorry for the capacitor confusion. They are just for PF on a separate 'thruster' motor (TM) that keeps the Service Brake open. If the power fails, the brake closes. It can then be opened manually only after the diesel auxiliary engine is coupled. There is a failsafe switch labelled 'SB Manual' that prevents the brake from being operated manually when in electric drive.
The hydraulic Emergency Brake is always manually pumped open, and held open until the 24VDC circuit closes it.
Is the puzzle less confusing, or more?

Trumpy, are you sure you don't mean 'secondary resistance'?
