The Intermatic website says that this in-wall timer has manual override to "maintain" the load either on or off.
Does anyone know for sure if this is truly maintained and not just until the end of the current cycle?
Just want to be sure. The customet says that the existing (broken) Intarmatic in-wall timer only was overridden until the end of the cycle.

Are you referring to the "Hold" feature?
That allows a manual "Override" of the time feature, and results in an infinite time for contacts to be closed (or open in the case of N.C. switches).

The hold feature is an optional feature, which needs to be specified when ordering.

Are you referring to an intermatic wall-switch timer?
The e-literature uses the word "maintain" .
The customer wants to be able to either have the light stay on, or off, indefinitely.
This can be accomplished with a couple of additionsl switches (bypass the timer, and disconnect the output), but if they're not necessary, I don't want to install them.

I was referring to the simple spring wound type timers.

Checked my Intermatic Catalog for the type of control device you are referencing (I hope ...), and the same goes for the manual control feature.
Activating this feature allows for temporary or permanent manual over ride ability - for either constant on or constant off.

Unit must be reset to the "Automatic" position / function, before timed events run.
