Just at ECM and looked at a few 'violation videos"
My question is, yes the items are bad, but.....all of them look dated, probably around for a long period of time, or work that had no permit or inspection.
Anyone have any comment??

I didn't see Videos, only pictures. Most look like older installations.
The way they show the readers comments you can't tell which picture they're referring to.

I think they are just trying to make the magazine more interesting (I assume EC&M is who we are talking about). I agree some of the "violations" seem to be installations that were just not properly maintained and the cans rusted out. Others seem to be things done by homeowners and handymen, long after the inspector left. I used to take a lot of those pictures myself on vacation in various places.

Greg, Yes, lack of maintenance for some, trunk slammers for a a lot. I came upon the videos thru an email. I see some while at work, and out around town also.
