Housebilding DIY wiring

When you want to build a house, and not disturb the neighbors wire drop:

Not by code here in Norway! How about NEC? or??
The 2 wire 230 V system (no neutral) just goes trough the house. They has removed one pole, and tied the wire to a tree.

Should we laugh or cry?

Although I have not encountered this specific exercise of stupidity, this is what would happen.

The Builder would receive a Notice of Violation & Order of Penalty from Township
The utility company would be notified ASAP, to arrange correction to provide power to the adjacent customer, which would be at the offenders expense.
IF the 'pole' that was removed was property of the POCO, they may be subject to criminal charges.

As I said above, this is a new one to me.

Webmaster may be able to help you with adding pics, that's not my cup of tea.

As to the pics via the link, that situation would not have progressed to that condition (I assume the circuit is still live).

The circuit is still alive, and no the wire (isolated) touches the aluminum scaffolding on both sides of the house.

The owner of the house who is supplied trough that wire just shakes his hed, and says it may not last for long now :-)

Great,
Thank you!

Her comes the pictures. (edit: at least I uploaded them without errors :-( )

We had a thunderstorm here with approx 12 short power outs. (1 sec to 30 min) Seems like no harm is done so far :-)

Off the topic, but....we had severe t'storms last evening with flash flooding in Middlesex County areas. US 1 had 3'+/- of water.

I see your new pic in the 'New in the Gallery', but not here?

I see what you mean, very strange.

The 'Photo Gallery' seems to act differently than other forum areas.
I also notice new posts are not listed in the 'Recent Posts' sidebar

Did you (DSK) try adding that last photo using the "Image Manager"?
