I draw attention to my avatar - a picture of my cat Motzie.

I've had her since before here eyes were open. I was the first thing she saw.

Folks in the ECN chat shared with me the joys of her growth, and of my discovery that I could care about something more than myself.

Yesterday I became the last thing she saw, as I had her put down ... health issues, simply caused by her 13-yr old age.

Now she sleeps forever, in a sunny spot under her favorite perch.

And she will remain forever in my avatar, watching over us.

Thanks for letting me share.

Reno:

I share your feelings; we had to put down our german shepherd a while back. Yes, old age also.

Mr Ed is "on the roof" too. He has been fighting cancer for several years and we are just waiting until the day that he is no longer happy. So far so good but we have no unreasonable expectations. I don't want him to ever suffer and I hope my family does the same for me

Reno, sorry to hear about your loss.

Our family recently had a close call with our beloved cat, Scooter. He's doing fine now but had it gone the other way we all would have missed him dearly.

I lost my 8 YO German Shepard to bone cancer almost 2 years ago, 106 pounds of pure sweetheart, who loved kids, cats, got along with other dogs, still miss him.

To Reno, sorry about your loss, get attached to the critters, the time is always too short.
