Does anyone have a source for duplex floor receptacles with brass covers? They must be duplex and they must be brass. Thanks, Brian

Brian:
Hubbel brand has what you're looking for. They aquired "Walker" products a while ago. You may be able to order what you want thru your local WW Grainger branch, as they are Hubbel full line distributors, or your local supply house.

Thanks John I'll check it out. I also forgot to mention they are for residential installation in wood floors.

Actually Walker is part of Wiremold not Hubbell. Here is a link to there site: http://www.wiremold.com/product_catalog/walker/index.html
Hubbell owns the Raco line http://www.hubbell-raco.com
You might also try Steel City which is part of T&B http://elec-cat.tnb.com/tnbcat/tnbcat/webcat
Its hard to keep track of who owns who these days.

The Walker Infloor Systems 880 Floor Boxes for Wood Floors has a selection of brass covers in 1, 2 and 3 gang configurations. I've used these in resi wood floors and liked the results.

Gentlemen:
I stand corrected.
Merger mania has struck again.
Like ya said..."it's hard to keep track"
Used to like stuff made by "Raceway Components", who were located about 10 miles away. Well, Walker bought them, and Walker got swallowed by......Wiremold.

this is what i need also but they are pricey. it looks like i would need the box, a cover, and an adapter of some kind and each of them is in the $40 range. is that about right?

the single outlet brass cover everyone carries locally are $20 or so which fit a standard switch box. the ol' duplex outlet must be an engineering marvel.

As an alternative, I've used Pass and Seymour floor boxes for wooden floors with good results.

I ended up with the floor box system by Carlon on that job back in Feb. They were easy to work with and they were rectangular, which is what they wanted. They come ready for new contruction or old work (cut in). Special order from my wholesaler they were $55.00 each.
The round brass ones run $40 to $50 each for the covers, for slab installations.

The round ones work great in any flooring. Make those floor guys earn there money for once. They need a challenge from time to time anyway. Between P&S, Steel City, and Carlon round floor boxes the only difference I have noticed is design and the diameter of the adapter. So far they all fit the same cover no mater what style ( plastic or brass).

Does anyone know of a coupling or extension for these boxes though? They decided to pour an extra 2" of concrete and my box is buried. Anyone know which national supply house carries Wiremold also? Would like to look at some of those dual communication and power floor boxes they make.
