Just wondering if i can write the 309c with a 442a license or do i have to do more school any advice would be helpful.

Why not write for the 309A instead of limiting yourself. If you can get a letter from your employer attesting to your work experience regarding new installations you can just go and write. I would recommend a prep course to review the code etc. Good luck.
