I have to replace an existing unit substation that supports a 50,000 sf building. During construction, I am proposing a temporary roll up generator with a termination cabinet between the generator and existing dist. equipment to provide temporary electrical services during construction. The generator will feed a 800A MCB dist. panel. I understand per Art 590 (2011) a temporary service must be installed as a permanent installation er Art 230.

Are there any concerns that I should be aware of? I feel like I am missing something?

Thanks in advance.

IMHO, you should refer to 590.2 (b), check with the local AHJ regarding your proposed temp install.

Conforming with 230 part 1 thru 7 requirements, should not pose any issues, based on what you described above.

MOCP at the gen, feeder to your MDP and branch circuits feeding your loads.
