As some of you might have noticed. The ECN Forum has been down for about 36 hrs. since 2 am Sat morn. No, we weren't changing the BB software [Linked Image]

It seems that someone climbed a pole and cut a major Telco cable that comes into the Industrial Park/Office Complex where our servers are located. So, the T1 line was out. Websites were down and no mail service (to us) either. The Telco guys say that this happens all the time where cables are cut or equipment smashed with sledgehammers. On a personal note I hope that these things are investigated and persons prosecuted. [Linked Image] It can really affect a lot of people in many ways.

Thanks to those who had written expressing their concern, or offering their help!

"Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible," as they used to say on TV over here!

Nice to be back. [Linked Image]

I agree and wouldn't this be a felony?

Think of people who might need communications in emergencies, or the elderly who depend on communication for security from isolation.

Please let us know if any are caught.

Thanks Roger

Bill-

I panicked. I would dread losing this web site. I usually get an answer to my questions within hours. That is one of the many reasons I think this message board is such a good resource.

Perhaps sterilization with a cattle prod or dull butter knife would discourage this behavior in the future.

I was lost in the web and was not sure of what to do so I bought another toy! A DVD burner, now I will have fun recording stuff and show what happens to the jerk who climbed the pole and wound up as a "crispy critter"!

*&^%$^#$%@!#$% to that &*^%$# who did the cutting!

Let us know if they caught the SOB!
