Is there a code reference that prohibits dropping 1 leg of a 480 circuit to control HID lighting? I notice 410.141(B) only applies to fixtures exceeding 1000V.
Sure, thanks John. 3 phase 480, 3 wire is pulled to a light pole with 4 fixtures on the pole. The site engineer wants to drop legs to control the lights separately. I don't like the design but can't seem to find anything that prohibits it as long as the required disconnecting means is in place. What do you think?
George, I think that's what I'm looking for. The "auxiliary equipment" terminology threw me off and I skimmed right past it. It appears that the term auxiliary equipment refers to ballast. Thank you sir!
