I am designing power for an exterior heated enclosure for domestic water piping.

the pwr source will be from stand-by generator circuit.

does the heater have to be supervised?

if so, from where? Fire alarm and/or building management interface panel?

to keep the pipes from freezing. It is a aluminum enclsosure (HB8E-D) with dual 1900W heating elements. The circuit is fed from stand-by generator distribution.

not to be pointed in right direction for nfpa supervisory ckts.

Why are heaters required, other than freezing? What type/use group of structure/building?

Is the gen a legally required system, or is it an optional system?

Supervisory circuit to bldg mgt sounds like a good move. The FACP? Perhaps, if the water is destined for fire supression use.
