Does the code allow you to run a conduit from the side of a Wall Mounted Metal Halide fixture(Wall Pack), if an existing feed runs into the back of the fixture? Would the fixture then be a raceway? I may go a different route and not pick my feed for a new light off of an existing wall mount fixture. TGIF

410.65 in the '08 NEC specifically allows luminaires to be connected together that way. It also states that the fixture is not required to be listed as a raceway for this purpose.

I agree with KJay. I don't believe there have been any changes from previous NEC (2005-2002, etc)

Thanks for the replies. When we install the 3 new lights, we may be replacing the wall pack with a weather-proof round box. The 3 new lights may shine enough light.
