The power Co. wants to charge a friend of mine to move there power line which runs over his preposed new Garage location. This power line feeds the house next door to him not his??? I was wondering how its dealth with in other areas. This is in Upper Pen. Of mi. Thank You Yoopersup
You might have your friend check to see if the power company has a right of way or an easement through your friends property. If they don't, then the POCO has no right to cross his property to serve someone else.
Around here, the POCO will not cross another persons property to serve your house.
Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example.
I agree with Tom...an easement would be required to cross property.
As to fees & charges, here in NJ (thanks to deregulation) fees have become a way of life. In your case, if there is an easement, then your friend has a problem. It should show on his survey.
