Total Load 3200 amps , Switch gear rated at 4000 amps

9 sets of 3-500 Kcmil & 1-4/0 neutral = 3420 amps.

Load 3200 Wire 3420 gear 4000 amps.

No main Six 800 amp switches

Legal per 230.80& 230.90 a EXCEPTION 3

READ PAGE 150 & 152 2005 NEC CODE HANDBOOK

Service Conductors Adquate for Load, Gear rated Above Load
Should be good to go Right.

Provided that your 3200 amp load is 125% of the continuous load plus 100% of the non-continuous load, I'd say OK.


Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example.

With six disconnects, and as calculated, it is Code compliant. Good to go. smile
