My local supplier has a huge C-H advertisement photo for arcfault devices, just like the pictures you see in the website (www.arcfault.com). C-H clearly shows a 2-pole AFCI breaker. My problem, me and my men have been wiring residential with 3-wire feeds and now, I hear that 2-pole AFCIs are not available. Whats with this??? Are 2p only available in US? If so, why not in Canada? The C-H rep has yet to call me back.

Is there any way I can wire two single pole AFCIs to work with my 3wire feed set up?

Cheers!

Here is that info I posted at MHE regarding the AFCI breaker manufactured by Cutler-Hammer that is meant for use on Multiwire circuits:

Following quote is from FPN notes pertaining to CJH215AF, CJH215GFAF, CJH220AF, CJH220GFAF 2 pole AFCI Breakers on the bottom of page 3 in th ePDF File linked below.
Quote
2-Pole AFCI breakers are designed for use in 3-wire, 120/240V AC circuits, 120V AC multiwire circuits utilizing a shared neutral (often referred to as a “home run” circuit), and 240V AC circuits obtained from 120/240V AC source.

If the proposal to require all of the circuits to be AFCI protected on a Service Change is accepted, all manufacturers will have to start making them for the millions of homes with multi-wire circuits.
manufacturers see $$$$$, homeowners say...they cant afford upgrade

i forget what 'AFCI' thread it was a while back..... i had systematically e-mailed the tec supports of a number of common manufacturer's.
Most claimed a 2-pole AFCI would be available fall 02' to spring 03'....
