The new dusk/dawn eye on a post light seems to have crapped out in 3 weeks.
Does anyone make a high end / warranted unit that lasts ?

Buy one rated for the highest amps possible. It's unusual to me as I have had very few photocell issues in the 30 + years in this business.

Was the "eye" pointed north? If it is pointed where the sun can shine directly on it, it won't last long.

I am really happy with intermatic products. I personally think they make some durable products. Check out the hardwired photo eyes on the site. Its worth a look. Good Luck, Brian

I think most Intermatics are warrantied for 5 years.

I deal with photocontrol all the time, and on a rare occasion you will just get a bad cell. Make sure you're using the proper unit rated for the load and also the TYPE of fixture (ballasted or unballasted)you are operating.

Good Luck!
