RODALCO mentioned Hobbies out of Control in his post on the old clock connector.

What a good new thread that could be!

Hobby out of Control? How about this? Lathe headstock and Tailstock on wooden stilts, re-grinding the kingpins for my Renault tractor @ 450 rpm.

Balanced nest jig bolted to the faceplate with a running centre.

The grinding head is a quarter-horsepower motor unit out of an old planer blade sharpening machine. Worked a treat!

Anybody got more mad-hobby pics?

my holiday lighting supplies down cellar are in the hundred thousands (light bulb count), and we are always looking and getting more.
most we've set up in one season was 30000 lights.

Alan: I will have to get pix of the "lathe turned into boat winch" from the cottage next time I am up... Girlfriend's Grandfather built it and it works great, but alas, the wiring is hideous!
