What do you make of this ?

Small Irish telco and ISP called Perlico, this was what they had on their customer service helpline this morning!

Has to be listened to to be believed.

The sound quality is poor as it appears to be recorded from with a PC mic listening to a mobile phone in loud speaker mode.

Radio version of it : (with DJ intro)

Actually, it's a clever piece of viral marketing - they were covered on 5 breakfast shows and the tip off was mysteriously emailed to all local and national radio stations...

It was a PR stunt.

It was definitely an effective publicity stunt then. At least the option must have brought a smile to anyone fed up with going through the usual endless options on these things.

There was a commercial running on local radio here a year or two ago which was mocking voice menu systems. It went something like this:

"Press 1 to speak to a surly representative who doesn't want to help you. Press 2 to speak to somebody who is very pleasant and friendly, but no help whatsoever. Press 3 to listen to a tinny version of Greensleeves. Press 4 to be plunged into a telephonic abyss of silence. Press 5 to be disconnected for no apparent re...... <click>."

How true!

No doubt the world knows who "Perlico" is now.

"BRILIANT!"

My personal machine has "3" to speak to the dog.

I'm amazed at how many (including cold sales calls + wrong #s) leave cute little messages for the pooch!
