I am doing some research on PPE for arc flash. In a mine where MSHA is the code there is some confusion about what applies. I say the NEC applies and that OSHA applies. But I am hearing a lot of grumbling that OSHA does not apply unless MSHA does not cover it.

Is there a part of the NEC that talks about ARC Flash or is that just in OSHA?

Thanks

The NEC does not cover safe work practices. It only covers the installation of the system.

MSHA references the NFPA 70E for your arc flash PPE questions. You can find alot of info on arc flash at www.epowerplus.com/training.htm
