I was wondering if anyone has any information about the percentage of industrial facilites nationwide that are implementing NFPA 70E safe work practices. Just curious. Its a real hot topic here in Maine, but from what I've seen it's still in the discussion stage for most of the plants and mills, at least the small and medium size facilites. I wonder how that compares nationwide. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

My job is to help companies get in compliance, I would estimate here in the midwest about 60% of large industrial facillities think they are in compliance, only about 20% actually are.

For medium to light industrial, about 25% think they are, 10% actually are.

For electrical contractors, 90% think they are, 5% actually are in compliance.

That doesn't surprise me. One of my industrial customers has purchased some PPE, some insulated tools, sent 2 employees to a half-day seminar and now feel they are in compliance. I thought that may be a common knee jerk reaction nation wide.
