Somewhere in my "Archives" I have some Solid #6 and #4 Insulated Copper Conductors - imagine pulling those puppies!!!

I'm fairly certain that tinning of conductors keeps copper and rubber from chemically reacting, preventing corrosion of the copper conductor.
