What sort of systems are you putting in?.

To start with, I would get familar with the products on the market and stick with one brand you know and will use(like leviton or channel plus). Then spread out to the others on the market. You will find that you will need to intergrate some different brands to make a larger system. But for the most part one brand will do for the smaller systems.
