1st Id like to say hi to you all. I read the post every day to see whats new and hope I to can contribute to site.
I was wondering what you would think of contractors that pay cash for there help and have no workers comp ins. In return get jobs because they are cheaper.
In my area it seems as if everyone with a masters lic. goes on there own then some are paying cash to the guys that cant get there lic. and when the unlic. guys get a chance they will wire new homes and the home owner pulls the permit and says I wired this place.
I believe the inspectors need to open there eyes a little wider, We have good inspectors as far as the Electrical inspections but I think thay are the only one's capable of stoping the unlicensed workers. what do you think.

It's agervating. Does not seem like the goverment cracks down on cash payment. I hired a guy once that had years exp. and worked for a few places. Got his first paychek and he thought I was ripping him off. He never had any deductions before.
