We too are also looking for ways to diversify our company. Are you doing residential or commercial?

Marketing is one thing, backing up the marketing with a solid installation and support is another. Just something to keep in mind.

Hi,
Buck- I do mostly residential anymore but I would do commercial or industrial if the opportunity presnts itself.

Right now I think the hottest thing selling is entertainment stuff.

Backup, emergency or distributed power is hot.

Something that's been in the testing stage in the midwest this past year and I expect to become wide spread soon is broadband over electric utility lines. High speed internet will be available to rural areas that don't have access to DSL or cable. Folks around here are chomping at the bit and when it's available it will spread like a rash.

Hi,
Fred-I have been watching this for several years. It sounds to me like they have almost gotten the bugs worked out and it is catching the eye of a lot of big pocos..

Can't wait to see what happens there!

Thanks

2 REMCs in Indiana have already been running it for a year now. Cinergy is about to launch it in a large test area.

Something I have had some success with is MAC work for the local school district. "Moves, Additions and Changes" has really helped fill in some slower electrical times. Pretty easy to do w/o much investment. Just need to watch out for what criteria for passing a good install. No pass No pay.

IMHO,

Steve
