Did the service,etc. for a modular;there is a 3-wire that comes up from switch below to attic and I think it gets wired through the
attic light(s)and then to 2nd 3-way;how to do this?

Sparky; if it's like the one in the base.,it's fed at 3-way w/ power tied to black of 3-wire and whites nutted;existing light on "common" of 3-way;white of three wire painted red(to denote power coming back?)I need to complete attic cicuit w/ another in attic.Has existing light at bottom of stairs.Hope that explains it.

If the white wire on a three-wire cable is painted red then it is probably a traveller. The three-wire cable would contain one hot condutor (black) and two travellers (red) and no neutrals. You would not be able to feed a second light off this cable. How many cables and how many wires are in each cable at the existing light and switch?
