Found this guy knocked back into the wall in my living room. It's a Gem Co. "Radio Receptical"! (Patent App'd for - Made in USA) Connected to a K&T ground and antenna wire that goes up into the attic. If you Moderator gents wanna stick the photos in the Nosalgia section feel free... { Pics moved to ECN server }[This message has been edited by pauluk (edited 08-27-2006).]

Is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

The ground wire was cut, and appeared to maybe go to the garage, the antenna wire was a K&T #14 that ran across the attic, that was the antenna

Awesome find! Is it for sale? Looks like a standard banana plug would fit in there just fine.

And it also looks like a switch plate fits it.

Neat find!! I'm curious about the connections to it. Do the ground and aerial both connect through the same small hole in the front? I wonder how a standard 1/4" audio-type phone plug would fit in there?

Ahh yes. Gem Electric of Hauppauge, NY.
They sure had some whacky looking stuff, even when I was a kid.
I still miss 'em. Company closed down back in 2000 or so.
