Hi Supersonic,

We have a handful of Aussie members here. I expect some of the others will be along shortly.

Speakin of aussies............<BG>
The company I work for, is owned by an aussie company, and this week one of our safety nazi's sent out a copy of the aussie "safety letter" from May, I had to spend 2 hours explaining to my boss what an RCD was and why we didn't have them............lol

Hi Supersonic,

The best place to start would be Http://www.eso.qld.gov.au That is the site of the Qld regulator.

If you are moving from interstate or NZ, you will find the equivalent licence recognition from these areas, in schedule one of the Electrical Safety Regulation 2002.
If you are from other countries you can look up trade recognition Australia.

Supersonic I'm guessing it depends which state you're coming from. I once moved from Melbourne to Balina and my Victorian practising license wasn't recognised in NSW.

Is this still the situation in Aust. Where each state has its own license ?

It still is at the moment but a national electricians license is not too far away.
I believe apprentices in each state are now doing the same national training course.

If you are moving to Brisbane Queensland you may like to contact me via EMail bill.langford@det.qld.gov.au I may be able to help you through the maze.
